Metro TeenAIDS runs a diverse group of outreach and education programs aimed at helping young people at risk of HIV infection.
Each year,
Metro TeenAIDS's and our national partners bring together over 550 adolescent
HIV/AIDS activists and educators from across the nation to learn from
each other, provide mutual support, and share ideas and resources. For

Street Outreach is a program targeting youths who are at high risk of HIV infection. The program, which focuses on gay adolescent males and females in public housing, helps young people identify high-risk behavior, and provides them with HIV/AIDS prevention and testing information. Street Outreach also gives AIDS/HIV 101 presentations on request, and does general outreach work.
This program
is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and
DC Department of Health's HIV/AIDS Administration (HAA).
Counseling/Testing Site Evaluations and Referrals Metro TeenAIDS Youth Coalition members conduct "undercover" referrals to determine which testing sites follow guideline established by professionals in adolescent health care. A list of selected sites is made available to youth through the Information Center and Street Outreach programs. For more information contact:
Metro TeenAIDS is currently updating our information center. We will be making new materials available in the spring of 2003.
