FREESTYLE YOUTH CENTER

Freestyle, located at 651 Pennsylvania Ave. SE in Washington, DC, is Metro TeenAIDS’ youth space that serves as a safe–space and hub for our Peer Educators aging from 13–24. Freestyle also focuses on structured positive youth development programming infused with educational and civic activities around HIV prevention, sexual health and substance abuse prevention.

The overall goal of Freestyle is to provide a positive environment where peer–to–peer and peer–to–mentor interaction provides youth with the skills, knowledge and support to build healthy futures for themselves and for their communities. The mission of FreeStyle is to transition youth into healthy, productive adults.

We believe that achieving the following objectives will help young people to continue to grow as educated leaders and advocates in the fight against HIV in their communities, become healthy individuals who make positive life choices, and proactive creators of their healthy futures. Freestyle programming is firmly centered on the Positive Youth Development principles of services, support & opportunities.
