S.I.S.T.A. (Sisters Informing Sisters about Topics on AIDS) is a 5 session DEBI (Diffusion of Effective Behavioral Interventions) that specifically targets sexually active African-American women. This group-level, gender specific intervention is intended to increase condom usage amongst African American women. During S.I.S.T.A.’s 5 two hour sessions we also center our attention on ethnic & gender pride, HIV knowledge, decision making, and sexual risk reduction behaviors.
Meto TeenAIDS has facilitated numerous rounds of the S.I.S.T.A. intervention in various high schools; local youth group homes, recreation and community centers, with SYEP (Summer Youth Employment Program) and YSC (Youth Services Center)
