“Freestyle” Drop-In Center

Metro TeenAIDS is very excited to have recently celebrated the Grand Re-Opening and renovation of its youth center, Freestyle. Freestyle is a drop-in center that is open every weekday from 3:30-8:00 p.m. It’s a place where young people can come for a safe place to hang out with their peers while learning skills and participating in educational activities that help them to protect themselves and their peers from HIV.

The center generally hosts 15–25 youth a night, and there’s a wide range of special activities and events. For example, “Where My Girls At?” is a support group for young women in the area held regularly every Wednesday night group for young women. “Floetic Fridays” is a open mic night where youth can perform rap, poetry, singing and more and is held every second Friday in Freestyle. Come down and check out Freestyle! For any other information, please contact Lamar Anderson.
