HIV Testing Information

Get Tested. Know Your Status.

Metro TeenAIDS offers testing that is quick, free, painless and confidential. Metro TeenAIDS uses the OraQuick Advance test. It only takes 20 minutes and results are received right here at the office. The testing sessions includes a pre and post test counseling session. In the session, one of our Care Advocates will work with you to determine your risk for HIV. We also offer free testing for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. This testing requires two weeks for results. And treatment is offered at the STD Clinic at the DC General Health campus for free. We also now offer pregnancy tests.

MTA provides free HIV testing (without appointment) Monday-Friday 12pm-8pm. Just ask for Courtney, Johanna, or one of our Care Advocates. Call (202) 543-9355 for appointment or any other confidential information. (MTA is located at 651 Pennsylvania Ave., right off the Eastern Market Metro!)

Free testing and counseling is also available once-a-month, from 4:30pm - 7:30pm, at the following D.C. Public Libraries:

  • Dorothy I. Height/Benning Neighborhood Library (3935 Benning Road, N.E.) - 2nd Tuesday of every month
  • Anacostia Neighborhood Library (1800 Good Hope Road, S.E.) - 3rd Thursday of every month
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library (901 G Street, N.W.) - 2nd Monday of every month
