Our 19th Annual Metro TeenAIDS’ Auction was the most successful to date!
Thank you to everyone for making our 19th Annual Auction—MTA’s highest generating revenue event in our history—exceeding last year’s Auction sales by 18 percent! These funds will immediately be put to use in protecting DC youth from HIV and providing care to HIV-positive youth. We could not have done it without the support of our individual donors—our inaugural Founder’s Club members, our incredibly generous item donors, and everyone in the Washington, DC community who made the Auction possible.
Thank you all. Here are a few photos from that wonderful evening!
With honored guests like Leader Nancy Pelosi, and a special appearance by Italian Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero, June 7th will be a night you won’t want to miss! Purchase your tickets now, while they are still available! (Due to security restrictions, tickets will not be available the day of the event or at the Embassy that night.)
If you can’t make it to the Auction, join MTA at one of our new Auction Pre-Parties! Help build the momentum by participating in a night of fun at Nellie’s Sports Bar on U Street or the Duplex Diner in Adams Morgan.
A portion of the proceeds from both Pre-Parties will be donated to MTA, so don’t miss out!
Metro TeenAIDS was thrilled to be the sole beneficiary organization of the 2012 BET Honors and be able to attend the taping of the award show on January 14, 2012 at the Warner Theater!
MTA had the great opportunity to be on the red carpet and interview celebrities such as Jill Scott, Ledisi, Common, Kelly Rowland and more! The honorees for this year’s BET Honors are Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Maya Angelou, Tuskegee Airmen, Beverly Kearney, and Spike Lee.
The 2012 BET Honors will air on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 9pm ET/8pm Central.
Metro TeenAIDS will be front and center at the Warner Theatre in downtown DC amidst the likes of Maya Angelou, Stevie Wonder, The Tuskegee Airmen, and Mariah Carey!
MTA was chosen to be the sole beneficiary organization at BET’s Annual Awards Program. BET is generously donating the proceeds from ticket sales to Metro TeenAIDS.
There are various levels of tickets — ranging from $150 to $500 — so take your pick, depending on who you want to sit next to! If you have any questions about the event, please contact Lisa Purcell at BET at 202-608-2071.
Metro TeenAIDS staff and supporters commemorated World AIDS Day on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Sonoma Restaurant and Wine Bar. It was great seeing those of you who were able to join us as we celebrated MTA’s work. For those of you who couldn’t join, we missed you, but your presence was felt through the significant support that you have provided throughout 2011.
To help generate donations, and possibly win thousands of additional dollars in awards, on November 9th Metro TeenAIDS will be competing in Give to the Max Day: Greater Washington, a massive one-day regional online fundraiser to support local programs. More than a thousand nonprofits that serve the greater Washington region will ask donors to display their generosity in a region-wide competition to raise as much money as possible, and gain as many supporters as possible, in order to win hundreds of thousands of dollars in awards for MTA!
You can, of course, support MTA before or after Give to the Max Day, but we encourage you to participate on November 9th and help us win extra awards!
Check out MTA’s online giving site and become a fan here. To learn more about Give to the Max Day, go here!
Our 18th Annual Metro TeenAIDS’ Auction raised over $150,000!
All of these funds go directly to support MTA’s live-saving programs — specifically, to our new Testing Van that our Clinical Services Team will use to take counseling and testing services directly to DC youth.
On behalf of Metro TeenAIDS’ youth, staff and Board of Directors, we thank our corporate sponsors, our hosts at the Embassy of Italy, our community champions, and all our contributors for their amazing commitment and generosity to Metro TeenAIDS and the youth of DC. Your contribution, encouragement and participation to make this such a wonderful event is greatly appreciated!
