MTA’s 45 Peer Educators provide information on HIV prevention to 8,000 youth annually.
Our Social Marketing Campaign, REALtalkDC, is designed by youth, for youth to increase HIV testing and access to condoms.
MTA’s clinical team works to test over 1,700 individuals every year for HIV and STIs and provides risk reduction counseling.

MTA’s Schools Services Manager Christopher Barnhill was featured at the International AIDS Conference in the documentary Passing the Torch, as a young leader in the response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic
Six MTA youth partnered with the local theater, Arena Stage, to write, produce, and perform their own play Pulled Apart throughout the spring and summer of 2012, to express what it’s like coming of age in DC.
MTA was chosen as the sole beneficiary at the 2012 BET Honors, representing the face of DC youth across the nation.
